Your Soul has a Plan...

Updated: Sep 17, 2019

How many self-help & diet books have you read and still own?

For me the answer is hundreds…maybe even thousands.

I love books.

I tried for a while to only buy books on my iPad.  I told myself I was saving the planet and saving money when I bought a digital book.

This logic worked until I bought a few cookbooks. I really had missed holding books, the smell of a new book, writing notes on the pages and easily going back and forth between recipes. So now, I am back to buying books in hardback and am once again running out of space for all the books I own.  I digress:)

There are some amazing books out there with incredible insight and valuable information. I have special books that I have read several times and each time I read it, I learn something new.

One of my favorite books that I’ve read several times is White Hot Truth by Danielle LaPorte.

It a must read for anyone on the path of self-discovery.

It’s easy to get stuck in an intellectually understanding of what you should be doing.  Yet, this knowledge hasn’t made living in your body a happy place and eating is still a challenge.

With all the vast knowledge from books and the Internet then why are so many people still unhappy with their bodies and what they eat?

To me, one of the main reasons this is happening is that we trust the book experts more than we trust ourselves.

We listen to Google more than we follow our own intuition.

A great quote from White Hot Truth sums this up well: “NOBODY knows better than you what’s right for you. NOBODY. Let me say what I really mean: NOBODY. Advice? Get some. Oracles? Consult them. Friends? Worship them. Gurus? Honor them. Final say? YOU. All you. No matter what. Your body knows. Your heart knows. Your mind will help you act on what you know. Will there be times when you should have heeded external advice? Yep. Plenty of them. But your Soul had a plan. And nobody else knows your Soul’s plan. But you, oh guru.”

White Hot Truth by Danielle LaPorte

From my own experience, this was a hard truth to believe at first, especially if you’ve spent your whole life listening and following advice from everyone except yourself.

My journey back to trusting myself happened when I started working with a shaman. It was a journey of self discovery filled with highs and lows.  As challenging as it was at times to slow down and listen to trust my own wisdom, I stuck with it. And now, I can honestly say that I am happier than I have ever been in my life!

And, I want this for YOU...  I want you to love your body and be filled with joy when you eat.

You deserve to feel extraordinary!
